38 mm Shank Confirmation

The current MSD roadheader picks range is organized as a 38 mm shank group. Shank diameter is a primary matching dimension, but it does not establish holder compatibility by itself.

Compare the published model, head diameter, shank diameter, carbide tip diameter, head length, shank length, and overall length with the existing pick or confirmed cutting-system requirement.

If the existing pick has no readable model marking, provide measured dimensions, clear photographs from several angles, and a drawing or physical sample where available. Do not substitute another shank size or complete a missing value by assumption.

Carbide Tip Geometry and Excavation Conditions

Carbide tip diameter, pick-head geometry, and overall pick geometry should be reviewed against the excavation material, abrasiveness, impact conditions, and cutting arrangement.

Photographs of used picks can help identify the observed wear pattern, tip damage, body wear, poor rotation, or uneven contact. These observations support selection but do not replace confirmation of the shank, holder interface, cutting head, and complete dimensions.

Material details and performance expectations should be confirmed for the specific requirement rather than inferred from a competitor product or a similar-looking pick.

Holder, Cutting Head, and Replacement Matching

The correct pick must match the holder, retaining arrangement, and cutting-head configuration. Confirm the 38 mm shank requirement together with shank length, head dimensions, installation clearance, mounting position, and holder condition.

Before ordering a replacement pick, provide the existing model or markings, holder photographs and dimensions, cutting-head information, mounting position, and complete pick measurements. Similar-looking products are not automatically interchangeable.

MSD does not infer compatibility with unconfirmed roadheader machines, holders, or third-party product numbers. Existing drawings, photographs, samples, and previous MSD order information should take priority over a general product description.
