MSD supplies 6 inch DTH bits with MSD6A, DHD360, QL60, MISSION60, and SD6 Bit Shank options. The confirmed product range includes 154, 165, 171, 178, 190, and 203 mm bit diameters.

The listed configurations include flat and concave face designs. Gauge-button layouts, front-button layouts, button shapes, spline counts, and weights vary according to diameter and Bit Shank. The complete specification should therefore be checked rather than selecting a bit from the nominal 6 inch classification alone.


Available Bit Shanks

The confirmed 6 inch DTH bit range includes five Bit Shank options: MSD6A, DHD360, QL60, MISSION60, and SD6.

Each Bit Shank group is currently listed in 154, 165, 171, 178, 190, and 203 mm diameters.

The required Bit Shank must be confirmed against the exact DTH hammer model or the customer's existing drilling system. A similar nominal hammer or bit size does not establish that different shank systems are interchangeable.

The 165 mm configuration is the only currently listed flat-face option. The other five confirmed diameters use concave-face designs. Gauge-button quantity and front-button arrangement also change at specific diameters.

Button-shape descriptions and spline counts differ by Bit Shank, even where the diameter, face design, and button layout are the same.

MSD6A and DHD360 — Listed with Domed buttons and 8 splines.

QL60 — Listed with Domed buttons and 12 splines.

The parameter table uses Domed and Spherical as distinct button-shape descriptions. Exact weights also vary by Bit Shank and diameter, so the required configuration should be checked against the product table.


Matching the Bit With the DTH Hammer

The nominal 6 inch classification is only the first selection step. The DTH bit must use the Bit Shank required by the exact hammer model. The confirmed pairings are MSD6A hammer with MSD6A shank, DHD360 with DHD360, QL60 with QL60, M60 with MISSION60, and SD6 with SD6.

Bit Shank matching alone does not confirm the complete configuration. The selected bit diameter must also be checked against the confirmed hole range of the exact hammer model. The current hammer data confirms Ø158–203 mm for MSD6A, Ø150–190 mm for DHD360, Ø158–190 mm for QL60, Ø152–203 mm for M60, and Ø150–190 mm for SD6.

This means the listed 154 mm MSD6A and QL60 bits, the 203 mm DHD360, QL60, and SD6 bits, and any other configuration outside the selected hammer's confirmed range require separate technical confirmation. They should not be assumed to match solely because the Bit Shank designation is the same.

For replacement orders, provide the complete hammer model, current bit marking, required Bit Shank, required bit diameter, finished hole diameter, and product photos or drawings before the configuration is confirmed.
