A DTH shock absorber is a drilling tool installed within a DTH drill string to help reduce the transmission of vibration and repeated impact loads through the drilling system. In some drilling applications, this product may also be described as a DTH shock sub or shock sub.
During DTH drilling, the hammer, drill pipes, threaded connections, rotation components, and other connected parts operate under repeated impact, rotation, and changing mechanical loads. A correctly matched drilling shock absorber helps control the vibration transmitted through the tool string and supports a more stable drilling configuration.
The required model and configuration depend on the DTH hammer, connection type, drill string layout, dimensional limits, and operating requirements. A shock absorber should therefore be selected as part of the complete drilling system rather than by product name or hammer size alone.
DTH drilling tools are exposed to continuous percussion and mechanical stress. When drill shock and vibration are transmitted through the tool string, they may increase the load on drill pipe threads, tool joints, DTH hammers, rotation heads, and related rig components.

The most important information includes the exact DTH hammer model or hammer size, the required in-the-hole or out-of-the-hole configuration, male and female connection details, drill string layout, outside-diameter limits, and length requirements.
Rig model, hole diameter, hole depth, drilling application, and rock formation can also provide useful operating context. Where the existing connection or dimensions are unclear, a technical drawing, thread information, product photograph, or current sample should be provided for confirmation.
